POST-PROCEDURE

How long will it take for the pigment of my brows to settle from the darker color?

This deeper color will remain for approximately 5-10 days.  Adjustment(s) to these factors is the purpose of the follow-up appointment.

How long is the healing process?

The complete healing process takes about 6-8 weeks.  In addition, it may be several days/weeks before the final results are revealed.

Will I experience any discomfort after the procedure?

You will also experience swelling and tenderness.  A few optional comfort recommendations:

  • Cool compress (no direct ice)

  • Sleeping with your head elevated

  • OTC Antihistamine (swelling) and Ibuprofen (pain)

How long after the procedure can I begin wearing makeup again?

  • Please keep brow and eyeliner treated areas completely dry for 3 days (72- hours)... No water, lotions, ointments, makeup.  After 3 days (72-hours) you may apply a very thin layer of balm on the clean treated area.  Do this only if the area is uncomfortable due to tightness of the skin.

  • Do not apply makeup or sunscreen on the treated area for 2 weeks after the procedure. To preserve color, avoid using products that contain peroxide, alcohol, glycol, or rapid exfoliants i.e. alpha hydroxy and retinols on the treated area.

  • After any eyeliner procedure, use new mascara.  DO NOT USE an eyelash curler for a minimum of two weeks. This instrument pulls the eyelashes and the tissue containing your eyeliner pigment surrounding the lashes.

Are there any activities or beauty treatments I should avoid after the procedure?

  • During the healing process, avoid extreme heat, strenuous exercise, excessive sweating, hot tubs, saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools, direct shower spray, swimming lakes, hot water or chemicals.  Direct sun exposure and tanning beds should be avoided indefinitely. Both are counterproductive to the Permanent Makeup procedure you have received, especially with any brow procedures.

  • No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

It looks like hair strokes have flaked off after my appointment what should I do?

This is completely normal after a microblading or shading  procedure. Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes or shading.  It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared. Within 1-2 weeks, the hair strokes will slowly reappear at a lighter shade as your skin regenerates. Continue to follow the after-care directions. DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR SCRATCH  Skin/pigment exfoliation is normal.  Let the treated skin fall off naturally. or your color may cause premature loss of pigment and you risk scarring and infection.
